Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF)
The Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) was born out of the SRBX to introduce and engage high school students and young adults to the rewarding careers available in the built environment. In 2022, CIEF served more than 4000 students through its programs and awarded more than $100,000 in academic and summer program scholarships. Urata & Sons is proud to be a participant in this program by providing mentorship to students in the CREATE program, hands-on demonstrations at the annual Trades Day, gift donations for the annual Holiday Toy Drive, participating in the many fund-raising events throughout the year and serving on the Board of Trustees.

Associated Schools of Construction (ASC)
Urata & Sons is a proud sponsor of and mentor to a Concrete Solutions team in the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Competition. The ASC is the professional association for the development and advancement of construction education. This annual competition places college-level teams against one another in regional areas, to solve a construction problem provided by the organization requiring teams to do constructability reviews, quantitative take-off and detailed estimates, scheduling, development of construction sequencing and logistics plans, ensure project specifications are met, all while addressing crew and personal safety needs. This process requires the participants to use OST programs, Bluebeam Revu, multiple Microsoft Office programs, Revit Structure or a similar modeling program and Primavera P6 or a similar scheduling software. Teams work for weeks, preparing their solution to the problem and then present their solution at the competition in Reno, NV. This program is a great experience for the students and provides real world application for the academic knowledge they are learning in school.

The Navy SEAL Foundation, established in 2000, is a nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive set of over 30 essential programs for SEALs, SWCCs, veterans, and their families under five Pillars of Support - Strength, Resilience, Health, Education, and Community. The Navy SEAL Foundation stands at the forefront of crucial care for this unique community. They exist to help keep our warriors in the fight. The Foundation is an aid in transition to successful careers in the civilian sector. Should tragic circumstances occur and a member of NSW does not return home, they are there to assist their families every step of the way.
